The present invention relates to a DTV controlled by a 3D pointing device, wherein the DTV comprises: a receiving unit which receives an operating signal generated by an operation of the 3D pointing device; a display which displays, when the operating signal is received, a movable indicator and at least one popup object that is selectable by the indicator; and a control unit which generates a control signal corresponding to the received operating signal, and which causes the indicator to disappear from the display when no operating signal is received for a first preset time period. The DTV of the present invention enables the 3D pointing device to transmit no operating signal when the 3D pointing device does not operate for a preset time period. Thus, the power consumption of the 3D pointing device is optimized to increase the duration the 3D pointing device is powered.
