<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can decrease depleted toner in a developer and prevent the distribution of electrostatic charge amount from worsening even if the depleted toner is present. <P>SOLUTION: A potential difference greater than a potential difference between a latent image portion formed on a photoreceptor and a developing roll is applied between an independent member, which is disposed parallel to the photoreceptor and is independent of the surface potential of the photoreceptor, and a conveyance roll, which conveys the developer to an area between the independent member and the conveyance roll while holding the developer on the surface of the conveyance roll. Thus, an electric field in the same direction as that of the electric field between the latent image portion and the developing roll is generated. When excessively charged toner in the depleted toner is caused to fly to the independent member, removed by a cleaning member 21, and supplied to a developing unit, the ratio of supplied quantity, between the depleted toner and unused toner, is adjusted. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
