PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device that has a display section having high display performance, which seems to be floating in the air. SOLUTION: In the display device 100, a display unit 2 is visually recognized as if it is floating in the air by supporting the display unit 2 with a transparent support 3, the design property for highlighting the display unit 2 is improved. A power source line 4 for interconnecting the display unit 2 and a device body 1 is arranged along a side surface of the support 3 so as to be inconspicuous, and a signal related to video or the like displayed on the display unit 2 is transmitted from the device body 1 through the support 3 by an optical transmission method of transmitting light including the signal. Thus, power supply and signal transmission to the display unit 2 can be stabilized, and the design property as if the display unit 2 seems to be floating in the air is properly kept without reducing the display performance of video in the display unit 2.
