PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the effect of suppressing reflection on a catheter sheath inner surface in an optical probe used in an optical image diagnostic apparatus. SOLUTION: For the optical probe, a probe having a transmission/reception part of the optical image diagnostic apparatus is interpolated. On an inner surface, projection parts 600 in a square pyramid shape projected in an inner side direction are arrayed at equal intervals in an axial direction and a circumferential direction. For the projection part 600, the bottom surface is a square, cut planes 665-667 when cutting it on a plane parallel to the bottom surface are all squares, and the areas of the cut planes 665-667 at the respective positions in a direction orthogonal to the bottom surface are reduced proportionally to distances from the bottom surface to the respective positions.
