A precoding method in a cooperative relay system is disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention, wherein said precoding method in the cooperative relay system includes: obtaining a precoding matrix of local optimal sub-channels of a single link to each relay station; according to said each precoding matrix of local optimal sub-channels, obtaining a precoding matrix of comprehensive optimal sub-channels. A communication apparatus and relay apparatus are also disclosed by the embodiments of the present invention, and the present invention is applied precoding between a transmitting terminal and a relay station in the cooperative relay system.
