发明名称 AN ELECTRIC EMULSION TREATER AND PROCESS
摘要 1,208,067. Breaking oil emulsions. PETROLITE CORP. 26 Feb., 1968, No. 9276/68. Heading C5E. [Also in Divisions H2 and H3] A process for electrically treating dispersions between electrodes comprises applying to the electrodes a high-voltage potential in pulses, each pulse being of a waveform in which the potential is substantially zero during an initial portion and rises substantially instantaneously to a high value and thereafter follows the normal waveform during the remainder of the pulse. The process is suitable for separating sand or water from crude oil. The fluid to be treated enters a cylinder 10 via a line 26 and is directed against a baffle 28. When high voltage pulses of specified waveform are applied between the perforated electrodes 21, 24, the dispersed particles will coalesce or agglomerate into masses of sufficient size to gravitate from the oil via line 30. The treated fluid is removed via line 29. The pulses are generated by silicon controlled rectifiers 14 which are turned on by a trigger generator 32 at a time t 1 after the beginning of each cycle of the alternating voltage supplied to terminals 11 12, determined by a delay circuit 33. The pulses are coupled to electrodes 21, 24 by a step-up transformer 15. The process may include the use of a predetermined number of bipolar pulses followed by an interval determined, by a pulse circuit 34. Alternatively, complete sine waves may be applied initially and the " chopped " sine waves applied when the current has built up to a predetermined value. The Specification includes performance data. Fig. 2 (not shown) relates to a complete electrical circuit diagram.
