PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of miniaturizing a driving motor and a driving system without complicating a structure of a filter cleaning function. SOLUTION: In this ceiling embedded type air conditioner 1 composed of a housing 3, a decorative panel 4 and a suction grill 5, a clean filter unit 6 is disposed between the housing 3 and the decorative panel 4, a filter cleaning unit 11a receiving a pair of right and left cleaning brushes 17, 18, a pair of collecting brushes 19 for collecting dust, and a pair of rotation regulating members 20, is disposed in the clean filter unit 6 in a state of being movably in the longitudinal direction, the right cleaning brush 17 cleans a right-side half of the filter 7 in going-way of the filter cleaning unit 11a from one side to the other side of the filter 7, and the left cleaning brush 18 cleans a left-side half of the filter in returning way of a dust box 11 from the other side to one side of the filter 7.
