<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure insulation without enlarging the capacity of an isolation transformer in the case of supplying power to each gate driving unit which corresponds to semiconductor switching elements being connected in plural numbers separately for each arm of power converters. <P>SOLUTION: It is constituted such that semiconductor switching elements 1-5 such as IGBTs or the like are connected in plural numbers separately for each arm of power converters and that from a gate driving unit 25 on low voltage side and gate driving unit 21 on high voltage side, power is branched and supplied by turns via isolation transformers 15-11, whereby the voltage applied between the primary winding and the secondary winding of the isolation transformer 11 on high voltage side is reduced less than conventional system thereby making the capacity of the isolation transformer small. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
