PURPOSE: A method for controlling an external device, a broadcast transmitting apparatus, a broadcast receiving apparatus and a display apparatus thereof are provided to control the state of a connected external device through a broadcasting reception device when changing an external input. CONSTITUTION: According as a user selects an external device as an external input, a transmission and reception unit of a broadcasting reception unit receives an output signal of a first external device from a broadcasting transmission unit(400). When the change for the external input is requested, a user input unit receives from a user the state after the external input change of the first external device(410,420). The second RF transmission and reception unit transfers the control signal for an inputted first external device state to the broadcasting transmission device(430).
