1,214,751. Measuring slip of vehicle wheels. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. 7 May, 1969 [8 May, 1968], No. 23252/69. Heading G4H. [Also in Division F2] To measure the slip of vehicle wheels 11, 12 (Fig. 1) having coupled thereto wheels 14, 16 with z and n.z teeth respectively, a pulse from a magnet sensing wheel 14 enables counter 26 to count pulses from a magnet sensing wheel 16 until a further pulse is received from wheel 40. The count is then decoded to give no signal, a signal on lead 41 or a signal on lead 42 depending on whether a count of 50, less than 50 or greater than 50 is obtained to indicate the slip. Similar apparatus may be used for measuring the slip of four wheels by measuring the slip of wheels 12, 52 (Fig. 6) relative to wheel 11 and the slip of wheel 52 relative to wheel 51. The resulting signals on leads 58, 59, 61 are fed to logic circuitry 62 controlling electromagnetic valves in brake pressure lines for the wheels.
