The object carrier-transport mechanism has a motorized transportation device (3) which is formed for transporting a sample-object carrier (8) from a storage unit (4) of a laser scanning device (1) to a sample table (2). The sample table is formed for transporting the sample object carrier, for moving directly before the storage unit for the sample-object carrier or before a loading opening of an additional housing. An independent claim is also included for a method for transferring a sample-object carrier out from a sample table of a laser scanning device and into a storage area in a sample portion-magazine of the laser scanning device.
