A secondary battery is constructed in a structure in which an electrode assembly (300) is mounted in a battery case (200) made of a laminate sheet including a resin layer and a metal layer. The electrode assembly (300) has a structure in which separators (330) are disposed between cathode current collectors (310) and anode current collectors (320), Cathode tabs (301) and anode tabs (302) protrude from the upper ends of the respective current collectors (310, 320) and are coupled to corresponding electrode leads (400, 410). The electrode assembly (300) is sealed in the battery case (200) while the electrode leads (400, 410) are exposed to the outside of the battery case (200). A protective film (510, 520) is attached to the coupling regions (401, 411) between the electrode tabs (301, 302) and the electrode leads (400, 410) for sealing these coupling regions (401, 411). The protective film (510, 510) is spaced from the upper ends of the separators (330), so that the separators (330) are prevented from being damaged by the protective film (510, 520). |
