PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for processing a touch in a mobile terminal a having touch screen are provided to control a function as a user's intention by using a statistical model. CONSTITUTION: If a touch is detected in a touch screen in which virtual keys are arranged, a decision unit(153) decides a touch of a key using a s statistical model which establishes the virtual keys and a virtual coordinates. A controller(150) changes the virtual coordinates into the touch coordinates coping with the decided virtual key, and updates the statistical model. A model memory(141) stores the statistical model.
