PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-pressure retaining suction apparatus capable of preventing a sucked bodily fluid from infiltrating into a suction pump to prevent trouble in an apparatus body caused by infiltration of the bodily fluid, and capable of activating means such as for sounding an alarm. SOLUTION: The low-pressure retaining suction apparatus sucks the bodily fluid such as blood stored in the body cavity of a patient while retaining low pressure. The low-pressure retaining suction apparatus includes: sucking means for sucking the bodily fluid from the body cavity of the patient; drainage storing means for storing the bodily fluid sucked by the sucking means: communicating means with air-tightness and liquid-tightness for making the sucking means communicate with the drainage storing means; bodily fluid infiltration preventing means disposed in the communicating means for preventing the bodily fluid from infiltrating into the sucking means by adsorbing or absorbing the bodily fluid infiltrating into the communicating means; pressure detecting means for detecting the fluid pressure generated in the communicating means by the sucking means and the pressure in the bodily fluid infiltration preventing means; and control means for adjusting the suction pressure of the sucking means and determining whether the pressure value in the bodily fluid infiltration preventing means detected by the pressure detecting means is a preset pressure or not.
