FACE IMAGE EXTRACTING DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD OF THE SAME, AND CONTROL PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image extracting device accurately determining whether a face image of a search target person and a photographed face image represent the same person even if the age range of persons cumulated in a database to be searched for is wide. SOLUTION: The face image extracting device includes: a setting part 100 setting a reference image including the face image of the search target person; an extraction part 101 extracting a face region from the reference image; an extraction part 102 performing searching in image data cumulated in the database 104 while changing a photographing date with a photographing date of the reference image as the starting point and extracting a face region from the obtained image data; a processing part 103 determining whether the obtained image data represent the same person of the reference image or not based on the respective face regions extracted by the extraction parts 101 and 102; and a switching part 107 switching the reference image set by the setting part 100 to the image of the face region extracted by the extraction part 102 when the processing part 103 determines that the person of the obtained image data is identical to that of the reference image.
