PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent prying between a main arm and an endless chain connected with a plunger of a tensioner lifter through a sub arm. SOLUTION: The plunger 33 of the tensioner lifter 31 is urged in a projection direction with a spring 34, the sub arm 29 supported oscillatably around a second spindle 28 is urged by an urging force of the plunger 33, a main arm 26 supported oscillatably around a first spindle is urged by an urging force of the sub arm 29, and a predetermined tensile force is applied to the endless chain 21 in slide-contact with the main arm 26. When a load F2 is transmitted between contact parts 29b, 26a of the sub arm 29 and the main arm 26, the contact parts 29b, 26a are formed in cylindrical faces each having an axis in parallel with an axis L of the second spindle 28, and are in line-contact with each other, so that inclination of the main arm 26 with respect to the sub arm 29 is prevented to prevent prying between the main arm 26 and the endless chain 21.
