PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent color reproducibility from deteriorating at output conversion of color matching, if there is tone reversal as the characteristics of a device. SOLUTION: First color gamut information regarding an output device is acquired at S601; a tone reversal portion in the first color gamut information is detected at S604; the tone reversal portion in the first color gamut information is corrected at S605; and second color gamut information is obtained. In matching colors between an input device and the output device, output conversion for converting image data on a common color space into one on an output color space is performed, by using a LUT (look-up table) based on the second color gamut information.
