摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the impact absorbing energy amount without deteriorating the strength balance in order to solve a problem that a conventional impact absorbing member improved overall impact absorbing energy amount by increasing ridgeline parts and improving cross-sectional force, and therefore, when the conventional technology is applied partially, overall strength balance may be lost and the impact absorbing energy amount of a single member may be reduced. SOLUTION: Among modes of deformation of a collapsing member by impact, the energy absorption amount increases in the order of bent buckling<complicated buckling<mixed unevenness bellows-like buckling<independent unevenness bellows-like buckling. A structure has been found out with which independent unevenness bellows-like buckling is caused by adding recesses of a line segment shape on ridgelines of a metal hollow columnar member and the impact absorbing energy amount is increased without deteriorating the strength balance.
