<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system which adjusts the color to a tint which a user desires, and makes color adjustment which reduces coloring materials, and to provide a printing control method, a printing control program and a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: When color-adjusting instructions and toner-reducing instructions are issued to a printing data in a host device HS, the printing system 1 applies color adjustment to the printing data, in response to the color-adjusting instructions, and when the printing data are converted to printing data for toner reduction which execute toner-reduced printing, in response to the toner-reducing instructions, the printing system determines an influence by the printing data for toner reduction, which are converted, in response to the toner-reducing instructions, on a tint obtained as the result of the color adjustment made in response to the color-adjusting instructions, and controls the conversion of the printing data to the printing data for toner reduction, according to the result of the determination.
