A process for producing anti-hypertensive peptides that are isolated from a variety of protein raw materials. The process includes identifying a protein raw material that contains that contains Val-Pro-Pro, Ile-Pro-Pro, or Leu-Lys-Pro-Asn-Met sequences within the protein. The protein is digested with a cleaving agent that produces anti-hypertensive peptide fragments of Leu-Lys-Pro-Met-Asn (LKPNM), Leu-Lys-Pro-Asn (LKPN), Lys-Pro-Asn-Met (KPNM), Leu-Lys-Pro (LKP), Lys-Pro-Asn (KPN), Pro-Asn-Met(PNM), Leu-Lys (LK), Lys-Pro (KP), Pro-Asn (PN), Asn-Met (NM),Val-Pro-Pro (VPP), Tyr-Pro (YP), Glu-Ala-Pro (EAP), Tyr-Lys-Pro(YKP), Leu-Ala-Pro (LAP) or a mixture thereof. The fragments are then separated and isolated.
