摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for machining a deep hole which prevent wear and damage of a cutting blade during penetration in deep hole machining. SOLUTION: The method is for machining a deep hole 2B at the workpiece W by using a machining device to which a gun drill tool 20 is attached to a spindle. For the gun drill tool 20 when the machining deep hole 2B is not penetrated, the machining state of the gun drill tool 20 is set to a normal mode. For the gun drill tool 20 when the machining deep hole 2B is penetrated, the machining state of the gun drill tool 20 is set to a protective mode of which the machining load is lower than the normal mode. More efficient deep hole machining in the normal mode is executed until the penetrating position, and the mode is switched to the protective mode upon penetrating, thus protecting the gun drill tool 20.
