PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicator for a vehicle capable of displaying an easily-readable measured value by using a pointer and a switchable index. SOLUTION: This indicator includes: a liquid crystal display 1 for displaying an index image including a scale or a numerical value which is an indication object of the pointer 61; and a control means 3 including a pointer control processing for inputting a measured value detected by a sensor and moving the pointer 61 so as to indicate the index image corresponding to the measured value, and a switching processing for switching from one index image displayed on the liquid crystal display 1 out of a plurality of index images having each different scale to another index image. The control means 3 reads a changing state of the measured value or a moving state of the pointer 61, executes determination processing of whether the changing state or the moving state in a prescribed time is within a prescribed range or not, and executes switching processing corresponding to the determination processing result.
