<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for shortening action time in confirming the action of an original position of a printer. <P>SOLUTION: The printer has a carriage control section reciprocally moving a carriage on which a printer head is mounted in the main scanning direction, a print control section feeding printing data to the printing head, a conveying section conveying recording media printed by the printer head, a position detecting section arranged in the original position set at one end in the moving direction of the carriage, and a position control section confirming the original position of the carriage by the position detecting section, wherein the position control section performs the original position confirming action of the carriage by the position detecting section in the case where the sum of the time when the carriage moves from the carriage position after completion of printing to the position detecting section and the time when the carriage moves from the position detecting section to the next printing starting position is shorter than the time when moving the recording media from the time of completion of printing to the next printing position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
