PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device capable of photographing by instinctively adjusting zoom magnification with a natural sense without requiring a photographer to perform complicated operation and without being restricted by a field of view of a finder. SOLUTION: The imaging device 10 includes an imaging means 12 for converting an image formed by an imaging optical system 12A photoelectrically and outputting the image, an acceleration detection means 14 for detecting acceleration in the direction of an optical axis A of the imaging optical system 12A, and a zoom magnification adjusting means 16 for adjusting the zoom magnification of the imaged image based on the acceleration detected by the acceleration detection means 14. The zoom magnification adjusting means 16 decides a direction for increasing or reducing the zoom magnification depending on the direction of acceleration in the direction of the optical axis A and decides a degree of an adjustment amount of the zoom magnification depending on the degree of acceleration.
