PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent viewing of a content from being suddenly interrupted when the content in moving transfer "Move" is viewed only by a transmitting apparatus. SOLUTION: An apparatus for transmitting content includes a recording/reproduction control part which performs transfer control "Move" for moving a recorded content to a content receiver 200, and when the reproduction of the content or the distribution of the content to a content receiver connected through a network is instructed during the moving, changes a transfer rate of the moving transfer.
