METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR STABILIZING HAIR MOISTURE LEVELS

A method and composition for maintaining and/or stabilizing moisture levels in the hair shaft comprising the application of a hair care composition comprising a copolymer comprising at least one hydrophilic monomer and at least one hydrophobic monomer, wherein at least one hydrophilic monomer is selected from the group consisting of sulfopropyl (meth) acrylate compound, 2 -acrylamidodiglycolic acid, hydroxymethyl diacetone acrylamide, (3 -acrylamidopropyl) trimethyl ammonium salt, 2-aminoethyl methacrylate and mixtures thereof; and wherein the at least one hydrophobic monomer is selected from the group consisting of 2 - ethoxyethyl acrylate, 2 -butoxyethyl acrylate, alpha methylene lactone and mixtures therof, and a dermatologically acceptable carrier wherein the hydrophilic and hydrophobic monomers undergo polymerization inside the hair fibers.
