PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator capable of adjusting balance between the amount of positive ions and that of negative ions which reach a charged object. SOLUTION: The static eliminator 1 has: a first electrode 5 which is arranged at a cabinet 2 in which at least one aperture 2a is formed, connected to a positive terminal of a power supply 3, and emits positive ions by electric power supplied from the power supply 3, a second electrode 4 which is arranged at the cabinet 2 by having a prescribed spacing between the first electrode 5, connected to a negative terminal of the power supply 3 and emits negative ions by electric power supplied from the power supply 3, and a blowing means 6 which generates an airflow to deliver the positive ions emitted from the first electrode 5 and the negative ions emitted from the second electrode 4 to a static elimination object. Then, at least either of the first electrode 5 or the second electrode 4 is mounted on the cabinet 2 so that the tip of one electrode is linearly movable against the tip of the other electrode at least either forward or backward of a delivery direction of the airflow.
