PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge almost perfectly preventing external air or dust from being mixed from a desorption means into a flexible container because the volume of the flexible container is expanded and negative pressure is formed in the flexible container, and to provide an image forming apparatus provided with the ink cartridge. SOLUTION: In the ink cartridge used for the image forming apparatus of a type that ejects droplets, the deformation of the flexible container 110 is restrained only in such a direction that a restraint member reduces the volume of the flexible container 110. Therefore, the volume of the flexible container 110 is expanded, the negative pressure is not formed in such a flexible container 110 and, as a result, the external air or dust can be prevented almost perfectly from being mixed from the desorption means into the flexible container 110.
