PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely control the lighting operations of a plurality of signal lights individually by means of a common signal light controller, to facilitate changing the contents of the lighting operations, to monitor the lighting state of each signal light using the signal controller, so that when a combination of lighting states may cause danger to traffic flow, the control is immediately transitioned to failure display operation control; to control the plurality of signal lights at intersections or the like to perform the lighting operations precisely in response to complex traffic flow, and to facilitate adding signal lights. SOLUTION: The plurality of signal lights 8 each have a characteristic identification symbol. A signal light controller 9 for remotely controlling the lighting operations of the signal lights 8 identified by the Identification symbols, including lighting order and lighting time, is provided. Each of the signal lights 8 has a communication controller 16 for communicating with the signal light controller 9. When a lighting operation command from the signal light controller 9 matches the identification symbol of each signal light 8, each signal light turns on the light corresponding to the lighting operation command and returns the lighting state to the signal light controller 9.
