PURPOSE: An eye drop containing gemifloxacin is provided to ensure antibacterial activity and to prevent or treat ocular infection without whole body side effects. CONSTITUTION: An eye drop for preventing or treating ocular infection contains gemifloxacin as an active ingredient. The ocular infection includes keratohelcosis, superficial layer and internal layer corneitis, keratoconjunctivitis, sty, conjunctiva conjunctivitis, or ophthalmia neonatorum. The eye drop also contains ophthalmologically acceptable carrier. The eye drop further contains surfactant, buffer, antioxidant, antiseptic, tackifer, or viscosity modifier.
