PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method, computer program, information recording medium, image processing device, and image forming apparatus, in which image sharpness is improved by improving gradation reproducibility within a small region, in a method of gradation representation by distributed dots. SOLUTION: The image processing method includes: a region magnitude acquiring step of, when performing conversion into halftone data represented with a set of dots each having a value represented by the number of gradations less than that of the multi-gradation image data, acquiring a magnitude of each region where a pixel having a gradation value equal to that of a target pixel included in image data is continued, in one or more directions; a parameter acquiring step of, when one of acquired region magnitudes is smaller than a predetermined threshold, acquiring a parameter to generate a set of dots in which a density of dots becomes eccentric toward the smaller region magnitude; and a halftone generating step of generating the halftone data, by converting the gradation value of the target pixel into a dot corresponding to the gradation value, in accordance with the parameter.
