PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an engine, which smoothly introduces fresh air to an air cleaner, produces no product failures such as sink, while being manufactured easily at low material costs. SOLUTION: An intake passage 3b is formed inside by joining a lower case 5 and an upper case 6. A plurality of guide ribs 9 extending in a direction roughly perpendicular to air flow are formed at a section where the channel of the intake passage 3b is changed at a prescribed interval t in such a manner that a line connecting ends of the guide ribs 9 is along a line changing the channel.
