<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which immediately detects there being no toner to be supplied to a developing device and suppresses carrier sticking on a photoreceptor due to a decrease in toner density. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 includes the developing device 2 comprising a developing tank 111, a first conveyance member 112 and a second conveyance member 113, a developing roller 114, a toner supply opening 115a for introducing a supply toner into the developing tank 111, and a preliminary agitating unit R which agitates and mixes the supply toner, a toner supply device 22 which supplies a toner to the developing device 2, a toner supply detection sensor 119 which detects the toner being supplied into the developing tank 111, a toner density control means of instructing toner supply when the toner density decreases below a prescribed value, and a toner emptiness detecting means of determining that no toner is left in the toner supply device 22, the preliminary agitating unit R being provided with a toner supply detection sensor 119. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
