PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system which facilitates detecting tiny defects being several mm or smaller of an electrically-welded part in a line for manufacturing electrically-welded pipes, such as those caused by infrequent dust and spattering particles or tiny defects on strip edges, which provides an excellently improved electrically-welded pipe. SOLUTION: This system for monitoring electrically-welded part includes: a brightness sensor 10, under the operation line of electrical welding, which photographs a predetermined monitoring zone 11 away about 20 to 500 mm downstream from a welded point which is a linear zone nearly rectangular to a welding line 1w and which recognizes the brightness distribution in the photographed zone as an image signal.
