PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a renewed elevator car device, and a renewal method thereof capable of easily mounting a car lower sheave without demolishing any existing car when mounting the car lower sheave on the existing car, considerably reducing processes of renewal work and shortening its period, and simplifying handling work of a heavy object. SOLUTION: The elevator car device has a mounting tool 6 which is provided along a lower surface of a car body 1 while an engagement groove in the horizontal direction is formed along its longitudinal direction. A car lower sheave unit 6 consisting of a beam 4 having a horizontal engagement part to be slidable from an end in its longitudinal direction and engaged therewith, and a car sheave 3 rotatably mounted on the beam 4 is provided in the engagement groove 6a of the mounting tool 6.
