PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the anxiety of passengers on an elevator which is not operated correctly due to a failure or the like. SOLUTION: An elevator system includes a car 20 which is vertically moved in a hoistway 12 formed in a building 10, an in-car display device 40 which is provided in the car 20 to indicate map information including the location of the building 10, and a communication device 24 to be communicated with a maintenance center 70 at a remote distance from the building 10. The maintenance center 70 is communicated with a portable terminal 90 held by a maintenance person, and grasping the position of the portable terminal 90. The communication device 24 receives positional information of the portable terminal 90 grasped by the maintenance center 70. The in-car display device 40 displays the positional relationship between the building 10 and the portable terminal 90 by displaying the positional information of the portable terminal 90 on a map based on the position information received by the communication device 24.
