<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system capable of coping flexibly with an unforeseen situation. <P>SOLUTION: A regular electronic key 2 is positively determined to be used, by electric key authentication, and a subject is positively determined to be an regular user, by biometric authentication, in a usual mode in a side of a security device 3, and an engine is permitted to be started up when an AND condition thereof is satisfied. The security device 3 is transited from the usual mode to a guest mode, when a biometric authentication release switch 26 of the electronic key 2 is operated. The regular electronic key 2 is positively determined to be used, by the electric key authentication, in the guest mode in the side of the security device 3, and the engine is permitted to be started up, when a single condition thereof is satisfied.
