<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an imbalance between a supplier side of power or energy and a consumer side on a system, when the imbalance exceeds the performance of an energy storage apparatus in a DC unit for connecting a converter to an inverter of a serially connected hybrid system. <P>SOLUTION: The driving system has a balance control section for commanding the inverter to reduce its output when a charging and discharging current to the energy storage apparatus in powering or regenerating exceeds the maximum permissible charging and discharging current of the energy storage apparatus or when it becomes lower than the permissible charging and discharging current, and for commanding an engine to perform an engine brake operation and commanding the converter to control a generator to perform a motor-driven operation and to absorb energy from the DC unit when the energy storage apparatus exceeds the maximum permissible charging amount, thereby reducing the imbalance between input and output of the DC unit. Thus, charging and discharging, which exceeds the excessive charging and discharging current output of the energy storage apparatus and the limit of charging amount, can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
