PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of a processing oil adhered to and remaining on a workpiece during processing by a simple method, make the removed processing oil reusable, reduce the running cost by reducing or eliminating the need of a cleaning solution to clean the workpiece and mitigate the load to the global environment. SOLUTION: The treating method comprises heating the same processing oil 4 as that used in processing the workpiece 12 to a temperature higher than the oil temperature during processing so as to lower the viscosity and bringing the heated processing oil 4 into contact with the workpiece 12 adhered with the processing oil during processing to lower the viscosity of the processing oil adhered to the workpiece 12 so as to reduce the amount of the processing oil adhered.
