PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply an effective rotatory operation to the pelvis, which is the trunk of the body. SOLUTION: A chair-type massage machine with a backrest section 1 and a seat section 2 includes trunk rotating mechanisms 5a and 5b for rotating the trunk of a user, at the backrest section 1 and the seat section 2 respectively, wherein the backrest section has therapeutic elements 21 pressing and treating the back of the human body, and both the trunk rotating mechanisms 5a and 5b which substantially simultaneously operate in the same direction to apply the rotatory operation to the trunk of the body apply the rotatory operation to the trunk of the body during the operation of the therapeutic elements 21.
