[Also in Division G2] Relates to the production of subjective colour in which a light source is modulated in accordance with a complex subjective colour stimuli producing code comprising a repeating sequence of intensities which vary in predetermined increments from off to full on and back to off. In a first embodiment the voltage applied to a white light source 28b, Fig. 2A, is repeatedly varied by switch 37 in predetermined increments as shown in Fig. 2B to produce red, green or blue subjective colour, respectively. Instead of switch 37 a rotating filter drum, Fig. 3B (not shown), may be employed to modulate the light from a white lamp 73 disposed within the drum in a manner corresponding to the voltage variations shown in Fig. 2B. A screen 74 having translucent letters may be placed in front of the light source. |
