Novel compounds 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, 1a and 1a<SP>1</SP> (including the enantiomers and racemic mixtures thereof) wherein R signifies H or Me, R 2 signifies H or Me with the proviso that not more than one R 2 is Me in a given side chain. R 5 signifies C 1 to C 12 alkyl, n is 0, 1 or 2 and M is an alkali metal, are obtained by reacting compounds 2 or 2<SP>1</SP> with an alkyl formate in the presence of an alkali metal base and in an inert atmosphere; treatment of the compounds (1 or 1<SP>1</SP>) so obtained with an acid affords compounds 1a and 1a<SP>1</SP>. |
