PURPOSE: A surveillance system which corrects transmission delay is provided to overcome a reception error callused by the delay of a communication signal. CONSTITUTION: A video signal is transferred from a surveillance camera to a host device. In set horizontal periods(t10-t15) of a vertical blank interval of the video signal, a communication signal is transferred from the host device to the surveillance camera. The reception delay time of the communication signal is notified to the host device. The host device changes a transmission start time of the communication signal.
