PURPOSE: A rotary kiln and a battery material manufactured by the rotary kiln are provided to cost effectively obtain the battery material by omitting a unit applying magnetic force to the battery material. CONSTITUTION: A rotary kiln includes a cylindrical shaped shell(5). The shell includes a thermal processing chamber(52). In the thermal processing chamber, a battery material is obtained by thermally processing a target(A). The shell is based on a carbon material. A gas supplying unit(28) is additionally installed at the inner side and the outer side of the diameter direction of the shell in order to supply non-oxidative gas. The rotary kiln includes a discharging unit through which the battery material is discharged from the shell.
