<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation of power consumption and heating value before and after switching low beam/high beam, and to suppress unnatural feeling felt by a driver. <P>SOLUTION: This headlight includes: a light source for high beam; a light source for low beam; a light source served as both of high beam and low beam; a switch for high beam input with a high beam lighting instruction, a switch for low beam input with a low beam lighting instruction; and a control circuit for controlling the light source for high beam, the light source for low beam and the light source served as both of high beam and low beam based on the lighting instruction input in each switch. The control circuit turns OFF the light source for low beam and turns ON the light source for high beam and the light source served as both of high beam and low beam, when the high beam lighting instruction is input from the switch for high beam.
