PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which can attain miniaturization, while securing strength for members, and maintain a closed state of a barrier member, at non-photographing. SOLUTION: The lens barrel includes a moving frame 2 provided at the leading edge part; the barrier member 3 provided in the moving frame, always energized in a retreat direction from photographing luminous flux, and movable between an opening position and a closing position; a driving ring member provided to surround the photographing luminous flux, turning about an optical axis, and openably/closably moving the barrier member at the leading edge of the moving frame; and a cam member 12 which is a frame member, rotating about the optical axis accompanying elongation/contraction of the lens barrel, in the optical axis direction and advancing/retreating in the optical axis direction, to make the moving frame advance/retreat in the optical axis direction, and which is engaged with the driving ring member to drive the driving ring member against energizing of the barrier member in the retreat direction, and to move the barrier member to the closing position during contraction operation of the lens barrel, and which is engaged with the barrier member to regulate movement of the barrier member to the opening position during contraction of the lens barrel, and which releases each engagement with the driving ring member and the barrier member, to release energizing force of the barrier member to the opening position during the extension operation of the lens barrel.
