The invention relates to a device for respiration which consists at least of one body (1) that delimits an inner chamber from an outer region, a region for sealing (2) the device against parts of the face of a patient, fastening elements (3) for positioning the device on the patient's head and a connection (4) for supplying respiratory gas. The device is equipped with an actuator (5), which when adjusted, changes the distance of at least one part of the device from at least one part of the body of the patient.
