<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an optical distance between reflecting layers which are substantially uniform, regarding an optical component configured to perform multiple beam reflections between a total reflecting layer formed on one of parallel planes and a partially reflecting layer formed on the other, and then to gradually emit the light from the partially reflecting layer where the layer thickness of the partial reflection layer becomes thinner in a multi-stepwise manner. <P>SOLUTION: The partially reflecting layer 13 of a VIPA 10 as an optical component includes a first reflecting layer 13a and a second reflecting layer 13b whose layer thickness is smaller than that of the first reflecting layer 13a.
