PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device capable of decreasing electric power consumption by executing efficiently a maintenance operation in a low electric power consumption mode in the printing device equipped with a normal operation mode and the low electric power consumption mode. SOLUTION: When shifted to the low electric power consumption mode, a first maintenance operation whose execution at a specified time interval is set is executed regardless of the execution timing of the first preceding maintenance operation. In addition, a time check with the specified time interval is started from the shifting time point to the low electric power consumption mode. It is thereby possible to prolong a time by the succeeding execution of the first maintenance operation from the shift to the low electric power consumption mode to a specified time interval.
