PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal capable of performing data relocation processing to a recording device in optimal timing. SOLUTION: In a memory 35, an on-time when a power supply is turned on, an off-time when the power supply is turned off, and an amount of used data and an amount of deleted data at the on-time or the off time are successively recorded. When the power supply is turned off, based on the off-time and a plurality of the on-times and the off-times recorded in the memory 35, a succeeding on-time, an off-timeΔT, and a succeeding off-time are estimated. When the power supply is turned off, based on the amount of used data and the amount of deleted data matching the estimated succeeding on-time and those matching the estimated off-time, an amount of data planned to be used from the succeeding on-time to the succeeding off-time is estimated. At the turn-off of the power supply, when the off-timeΔT is a predetermined timeΔTo or longer, defragmentation processing is carried out on the memory 35 to secure only the estimated amount of data planned to be used.
